FRENCH BREAD
(Bread Machine Recipe)

MAKES ONE 2 POUND LOAF

If your bread machine has a French bread setting, try making this. If not, use it on the basic bread setting. It is not the same as an authentic French Bread, but very good for a bread machine. The recipe is based on one from a Salton bread machine recipe book.

INGREDIENTS

• 1-1/2 cups warm water
• 2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil
• 1-1/2 teaspoons salt
• 4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour
• 2-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
