FRENCH BREAD BM

MAKES A 2 POUND LOAF

If your bread machine has a french bread setting, try making this. If not, use it on the basic bread setting. It's not as spectacular as the Crusty French Bread, but very good for a bread machine. By the way, the recipe comes from a Salton bread machine recipe book.

INGREDIENTS

1-1/2 cups warm water

2 tablespoons canola or vegetable oil

1-1/2 teaspoons salt

4 cups unbleached all-purpose flour

2-1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast

Add the ingredients in the order given or as indicated for your machine. Use the french bread setting for medium crust. Bake according to manufacturer's instructions.
