When I found this recipe, it was so old I could barely read the writing. I got it from a student back in the late 70's. Somehow I managed to keep it for 20 years even though I forgot about it. I am certain it is a common recipe, perhaps from a package of chow mein noodles or butterscotch chips. I have seen similar recipes, but none that use the peanuts. Either way, it is very good and easy. I will have to make them again before I can post the amount it makes, but I suspect it is about 1-1/2 dozen, depending on size. See Chocolate Spiders for a variation.
INGREDIENTS
Place the butterscotch chips in a medium bowl. Place over a pot of simmering water. Stir constantly until melted. Remove from heat and quickly stir in the noodles and nuts. Drop in desired sizes onto parchment or waxed paper. Refrigerate until well-chilled, preferably overnight. Keep refrigerated until serving.
