Edwina writes: "Many people don't like boiled okra. Try it this way. The vinegar removes lots of the slime. I use about one box of the okra, but I grow my own in pots on the patio. After all, okra is a type of hibiscus and many people grow hibiscus in pots to keep them from freezing in winter."
Ingredients
- Fresh okra
- Water
- Salt to taste
- Margarine or butter
- Worcestershire sauce
- Red wine vinegar
Cut the okra into round slices about 1/2-inch thick. Place in a saucepan and cover with water. Add salt to taste and a heaping tablespoon of good tasting margarine. Then add about two good dashes of Worcestershire sauce and red wine vinegar to taste. Boil until okra is done.
