Decadent Apple Cake

Makes one 8x8-inch cake

Anne writes: "This delicious cake is very easy to make."

Ingredients

• 3 cups diced apples (about 3 or 4 apples, peeled)
• 2 tablespoons butter
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 cup all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350° F. Cream sugar and butter; add egg, cinnamon, vanilla, nuts. Fold in apples and the rest of ingredients. Batter will be stiff. Grease and flour an 8x8-inch cake pan. Add batter to pan. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes.
