Ingredients
- 2 pounds of very ground beef (see notes below)
- 1 large Hawaiian or other sweet onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 tablespoon salt (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
- 1 bottle (10 to 12 ounces) barbecue sauce, divided
- 1-1/2 cup oats
Preheat oven to 350° F. Chop onion and garlic to desired size and mix with your hands all the ingredients except oats and barbeque sauce. Add half of the sauce and all of the oats and continue to mix well. Form your loaf and put the remaining sauce on top and sides. Bake about 40 minutes.
Notes: It is helpful if you let the meat rest from the refrigerator before you start.
