Makes 24 miniature dumplings
Kay writes: "I always bring home an empty dish when I take this to a potluck dinner."
Ingredients
- 3 tubes crescent rolls
- 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut into 24 cubes
- 2 cups granulated sugar, plus more, divided
- Cinnamon to taste
- 1-1/2 sticks of butter, softened, plus more, divided
- 12 ounces Mountain Dew or similar soda
Preheat oven to 350° F. Wrap each apple piece in a crescent roll. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon and sugar, add a little piece of butter before rolling, and place in a greased 13x9-inch baking dish.
Mix 1-1/2 sticks butter, 2 cups sugar and additional cinnamon; spread over crescent rolls. Pour on Mountain Dew and bake for 45 minutes. These are very good served with vanilla ice cream.
