Wet Bottom Shoofly Pie

Janet writes: "This recipe has been in my mother-in-law's family for years."
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 cup hot water
- One 9-inch unbaked pie shell
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
Preheat oven to 350° F. Mix together the molasses, baking soda and hot water and pour into an unbaked pie shell.
Mix crumb ingredients and sprinkle on top of molasses mixture in shell, starting from the rim and working towards center of pie. Bake on bottom rack of oven for 45 minutes.
