BASIC BREAD MIX FOR BREAD MACHINES

(Submitted by Kathleen Simington)

Kathy writes: "I found this on the computer and I have forgotten where, so I can't give credit for it. It is not mine." Kathy and I decided to place this on the site because it is so convenient for people who use bread machines. If you know to whom we should give credit, please email me and it shall be done.

BREAD MIX

INGREDIENTS

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Stir together to distribute evenly. Put in a large airtight container. Label. Store in cool dry place. Use within 6 to 8 months. Makes about 22 cups of mix.

BASIC WHITE BREAD FROM MIX

INGREDIENTS

Mix all together in bread machine according to instructions.

Note: I stir up the mix in the container and spoon it out into the cup. It seems to make the bread more airy.

Variation: I always use this also to make cinnamon bread. Just add 1 tablespoon cinnamon and 1 cup raisins. If your machine has a nut and fruit button or if it beeps at the correct time, add the raisins then. If you add them at the beginning when you put all the other ingredients in it chops up the raisins up too finely.
