Okinawan Shoyu Pork

(Shared recipe submitted by Sunny Oshiro.)

Sunny writes: "Here is the best Shoyu Pork recipe ever! In Hawaii, there is a catering company that is known for their Shoyu Pork. This is really close to that recipe! Enjoy!"

Soak meat in Sake in sealable plastic bag for at least one hour or overnight. Drain.

Boil pork in water and ginger for 2 hours (or 25 to 30 minutes in a pressure cooker). Drain and cool meat. Slice; put in baking pan.

Bring the shoyu, sugar and mirin to a boil in a small saucepan. Sprinkle green onions over the pork, then pour in the sauce. Bake in a preheated 350° F oven for 45 minutes.
