Caraway Noodles

Serves 4

This recipe for noodles with caraway seeds is a quick and easy side dish that complements many entrées, especially those of German or Eastern European origin. For a delicious example, serve the noodles with the Czechoslovakian Pepper Steak, which is in the similar and related recipes.

Ingredients

  • 4 quarts salted water
  • 1/2 pound wide egg noodles
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh onions
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Bring water to a boil. Add noodles and cook until tender, about 7 minutes or according to package directions. Drain and rinse.

Melt butter in same pan over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until soft, about 4 minutes. Stir in caraway and cook 1 minute. Add noodles and toss well until hot. Season with salt and pepper. Serve immediately.
