Toasted Pita Triangles

Make in any amount desired

Toasted pita triangles are a great vehicle for many different types of party spreads and dips, and it is so easy to make your own. This recipe is very basic and appropriate for any accompaniment. Depending on the presentation, you might want to brush the pitas with a little butter or olive oil and season with herbs or spices, as in the toasted garlic pita recipe in the similar and related recipes. You can use any pita bread you prefer. I use multigrain or whole wheat, which have more flavor and nutrients than white.

Ingredients

  • Pita breads, about 7-inches round, each cut into 6 wedges

Preheat oven to 375° F. Place the pita wedges on a baking sheet. Bake until toasted, about 10 minutes. Remove from oven. Serve immediately or keep at room temperature until serving. If you will not need them for a couple hours or more, place in an airtight container.

Notes: You can use flat pita or pita pockets for this recipe, depending on the desired thickness. If using pockets, split them horizontally through the pocket before toasting so that they will be thinner.
