Hot Clam Dip

Dawn writes: "This is like eating baked clams without the shell."

Ingredients

  • 1 stick margarine (can use butter)
  • 2 chopped cloves garlic
  • 2 cans minced clams
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 10 drops Tabasco or other brand hot sauce, more or less to taste
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon grated cheese
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon parsley
  • Paprika (optional)

Preheat oven to 350° F. Melt margarine in frying pan and sauté garlic. Add 2 cans of clams with juice. Simmer about 3 minutes. Add lemon juice and Tabasco sauce.

Mix the bread crumbs, grated cheese, oregano, and parsley in a bowl. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry. Place in baking pan. If desired, sprinkle mixture with a little paprika. Bake for 20 minutes. Serve with crackers.
