Seasick Marine (Green Beer)

(Shared recipe submitted by Marty Novak.)

Marty writes: "A Seasick Marine is much better for St Patrick's Day than just adding food coloring to beer."

Ingredients

Basic Mix
Makes 1/2 gallon
  • 1-1/2 pounds tomatillos, husked and quartered
  • 1 yellow tomato, quartered (can use 1 cup yellow grape tomatoes)
  • 2 cucumbers, peeled and chunked
  • 2 jalapenos, stemmed and chunked (remove seeds if you do not like it so hot)
  • 3 stalks celery, chunked
  • 2 limes, juiced
  • 1 tablespoon horseradish
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons fresh black pepper
Seasick Marine (Green Beer)
Serves one
  • 1/4 cup Basic Mix above
  • 1 (12-ounces) can or bottle light beer (Lone Star Light works just fine, but Shiner Light Blonde is good, too)
  • Lime wedge

Add Mal de Mer Mix to pint glass. Top carefully with beer and stir. Serve with lime wedge on rim.
