Ingredients

  • 3 cans of crescent rolls
  • One package (8 ounces) cream cheese (regular, low fat or fat free)
  • 1 small can mushrooms, well drained, or fresh mushrooms, chopped (see notes below)

Open can of crescents and unfold. Do not separate them. Press seams together to make sure they stay together. Whip the cream cheese and then add mushrooms. Spread on the dough evenly. Roll up the dough to make a long log. Put in freezer for 1 hour. This is just to help make them easier to cut into slices. Preheat oven to 375° F. Cut the logs into 1/2-inch or thinner slices. Put on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10 to 13 minutes or until golden brown. Serve hot.

Notes: Recipe can be cut in thirds, using 1 can rolls, 3 ounces cream cheese and one-third can mushrooms. You can substitute the mushrooms with finely chopped pepperoni, chopped green or black olives, jalapenos or even ham. Whatever you like to go with the cream cheese. These are great to make ahead and freeze uncooked and then cook them when you want them. Yummy!
