Mary Ellen writes: "A great casserole when company drops in and you don't want to be in the kitchen very long. This can also be made up and ready to be cooked in the microwave when your family arrives home. The recipe comes from my cousin, Anna."
Fry ground beef and drain grease off. Add taco seasoning, refried beans and salsa to beef and heat until hot. In a medium or large-sized bowl, layer tortilla chips in bottom, then meat mixture, then cheese; repeat layers, topping with cheese. Microwave until cheese is melted and hot. Serve immediately with salad on the side.
